Don't you just love fantasy? And yet, some of this is real; just expressed through the wonder of words in limerick form (and not using real names). ☺

My Girl, Alice

I once met Alice in her wonderland,
She showed me around and it was so grand;
There were wonders to behold,
But if the truth be told,
The best was when she held my hand.

Alice is a very sweet gal,
To be truthful she’s my very best pal;
There are many reasons,
No matter the seasons,
She cares not about my morale.

Alice is demure, sexy and sweet,
To be truthful she’s a feminine treat;
She makes my heart swoon,
Takes me to the moon,
Where we cuddle and kiss on a loveseat.

I once met the Jabberwocky,
A monster that was quite cocky;
It slashed and it bit,
It jabbed and it spit,
In Canada it played ice hockey.
(In Britain it was a jockey.)

When I met the eccentric March Hare,
He was on his way to the fair;
I asked him the time,
He quoted some rhyme,
And then kissed my fair lady, Claire.

I was deep in the woods when I heard,
The wild and ferocious Jubjub bird;
It appeared rather near,
I was frozen with fear,
Until Alice spoke her magic word.

At the counter stood the Mad Hatter,
He splattered as he mixed some batter;
He sang as he stirred,
Whistled like a bird,
That he spilled did not seem to matter.

When I met the mean Queen of Hearts,
She was eating some fanciful tarts;
She ate so many,
While she sat on her fanny,
That her whole body broke out in warts.

When I first beheld the Cheshire Cat,
He was well-dressed but he wore no hat;
His grin was disturbing,
His demeanour perturbing,
So I hid inside the nearest vat.

When I first beheld the Knave of Spades,
He wore his hair in ebon braids;
His look was a leer,
That instilled much fear,
In the hearts of all the pretty maids.

(But no worries, I was there to save them.)

Alice in limerick works very well, Regis. Seems to go with her territory after all. I like the way these all hang together and each definitely deserves its place in Wonderland! :) xx

It's a great book, Regis, and a great new transposition into verse. On a par with Roald Dahl's renditions of children's classics into poetry. best wishes kenny

Which one, Marilyn? One passed away recently due to cancer... ...another visited me yesterday but I am not with her; and the one I met when she was five and I was seven, well that is in the realm of what might come to be. Thank you for asking. I never usually leave a comment on my own "stuff" but you asked. Thank you. Love and best wishes to you.

That is pretty, charming. What happened to the real girl in your life you were so attracted to? I was hoping something would come of it?

Poor Alice. On the golf course she catches much malice.
No limericks from me. I'm rhymed out. Besides, yours are
sooo good.

I always love your limericks. The great takeoff on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Go ask Alice when she's 10 feet tall.
Not as much fun as when she is small.
She's gawky and strange, and slightly rearranged.
Not cute and petite at all.

There once was a guy named Reg,
Weird was he when he wrote his rhyme,
He must with this one be having a flashback,
Cause he does not of his usual craziness lack,
I hope, in his insanity, he does never jump off a high ledge...-e-
