My 5-Star review in entirety published at Amazon for author Lily Lamb’s mesmerizing LGBT Fantasy Fiction:

This well-written novel set in ancient times takes several dark turns along a path with many setbacks. For starters, a senseless tragedy which transcends the passage of time, occurs when Eresh and Anur, two male lovers, are tortured and killed by the intolerant villagers who relentlessly pursue them.

When Eresh is burned alive in his home, his anger festers into a thirst for indiscriminate retribution, thereby trapping his spirit in between realms. His undead, charred corpse serves as a reminder that Eresh (Jinn) was once mortal. Inner turmoil and conflict ensue.

From there, the author weaves a tale of terror and brutality whose course is altered through the intervention of love, making redemption and restitution possible. How she excels at conveying many of the magical manifestations taking place, is a testament to her writing prowess.

It is well worth the potential reader’s while to embark on the spiritual path forged by an author who infuses her story with relevant themes, sensitivity, scapegoated characters, and rich descriptions of the surrounding landscape and deity who metes out justice.
