A Far-Out Mind Trip!

A child of the Sixties, the notion of reading time-travel fiction day-tripping to 1968, grabbed my attention. Within the hour, I’d taken a literary trip to 1968 at the Newport Pop Festival in Orange County via the medium of a photo booth which jostled sisters, Amy and Denise, back in time.

It was fun to “hear” songs performed by groovy hit bands. To think I’d nearly forgotten “Summertime Blues” by Blue Cheer.

I even recognized an accessory in my former possession—a brown suede handbag with long fringes at the bottom.

Most poignant to me was the hitchhike back to their childhood home where the sisters reconnected with relatives no longer with them.

Before you know it, Amy, Denise, and their readers are back in the story’s present time of 2018. I thoroughly enjoyed this nostalgic and heartwarming trip to the Sixties.
