Author Sharon Mierke has outdone herself in plotting a whodunit where Mabel Wickels cracks the case in Cozy Sleuth Mystery, ‘Frozen Identity’ (Book4). Parson’s Cove has its share of quirky characters and ne’er-do-wells, but this episode carves the ice when a murder hits close to the vest:
It appears that Flori’s shady cousin, Victor Fleming, has been murdered by her son Jackie. And, he’s not talking. Flori isn’t crying. Former/Acting Sheriff Reg Smee has become Mabel’s collaborator rather than her adversary. Charlie Thompson steps up his game, and Nathan Horne, the postal worker who can run circles on the Internet, steers Mabel in the right direction. Mabel, a sleuth in her own right, digs up the dirt and takes it from there.
In awe from start to finish, ‘Frozen Identity’ takes a slew of hairpin turns that are sharp as a tack for unravelling the tangled web of lies in Parson’s Cove. I highly recommend going along for the ride.
