Truth is One
Your DNA is imbued by Nature
And you as an individual become shaped
By society and environments.
To allow yourself to be carved
Without any resistance
Is to invite surrender to reality’s
Relentless erosive will,
Resulting in realizing one day
There’s nothing left to be formed
And thus without discovery.
Yet…
For many of us,
At such a moment,
We recognize that the poet, the poem,
And the reader are one,
Just as identifying with a work of art
Is to be at one with the artist.
Truth is one void of two
The wise call it by many names,
Yet always holding
Truth is exclusive, not inclusive.
Might truth be the principal
That creates the oneness
Between artist
And patron?
Given the philosophical drift here, exclusive becomes the antonym of inclusive. As adjectives the difference between inclusive and exclusive is that inclusive includes almost everything within its scope, while exclusive excludes those things that do not meet certain criteria. Once in a while I burst out singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic. To think that our Civil War soldiers went to war singing, "The truth goes marching on." A clear reference to why they were fighting southern Americans… The false truth that slavery was good for the country.
