Enjoy your cowardly weekend at home, House reprs. Meanwhile, among other issues unresolved, Texas immigration problem is beginning to remind us of history becoming out of control. With so many tragic stories from the 2nd World War, where Hitler’s master plan introduced nothing but sorrow and grieving We might ask how much of history might appear again, especially if the. 2024 administration is headed by a bronze plated madman.

Desperation Breeds Desperation

Europe 1944

Gray days.
Steady downpour.
Transportation frenzy.
Escape smothering captured minds.

Plane…

Ticket counter awash with anxious faces.
Children’s crying eyes,
The elderly with stress wrinkled faces
echoing along the boarding area,
“I just want to see my…”

Passenger planes board the fortunate.
US fighters take off and land.

Train stop…

Old passengers and young prisoners peer longingly
out into the rain swept platform
for greetings, hellos, goodbyes.

The hopeful show papers to
brown shirt police and customs agents.

At the trains’ opening, a girl’s stomach, 8 months with baby,
shivers, soaked through.
A boy’s fingers hold a wet match
to her saturated cigarette.

Brown shirts guard, weapons at the ready.
Boy peers at girl.
Girl adds tears to her already drenched face.
“Vill I see you again?

What has changed? Virtually nothing. In the midst of luxury, and marvelous inventions, there are still dictator SOBs who live in a world of wealth and comfort who still want to destroy everyone and everything they do not understand or have personal control over. We are one stumble away from a MAD nuclear war that nearly one-half our own Congress is welcoming with empty heads.

Few Americans today, particularly those in Congress, have any idea what it was or is like for desperate people during much of the 20th century. In 1957, we had a Hungarian girl in our class. No one asked her what kind of horror she went through to get to our country. But she moved before we reached high school.

Those of us born of the "Greatest Generation." were sheltered from desperation except one of our classmates who lost his father in WWII and became a spiritual after struggling to earn money to help his mother denies. Our grandparents, survivors of the Great Depression, knew it and didn't talk about except my grandmother, Hull. She hated war and probably had lost a suitor during WWI to that meat grinder or the Spanish flu.

Your poetic article reminds me of the fictional short story I wrote of a desperate couple in Mumbai.
