Do we not have a beautiful planet with awe-inspiring scenery, wonderful places to visit, stunning views of oceans, mountains and an array of fantastic and unusual plant, bird and animal life...
So do we respect the planet we are on and enjoy the wonderful life we have been given or have we become selfish and rather live in harmony with each other and the things around us...become embroiled of living for the day at any cost?
Some countries are just no go areas...leaders of other countries just surround themselves with wealth and power while their people starve, die of disease and have no job or prospect of one!
Maybe even closer to home your government is influenced by major business corporations, banks and religious groups...
But isn't the real threat to all of us, climate change?
Not only now but for future generations, i would like to put to you three different points of view and then would like to ask your own...
Some scientists say the 'global warming scare' makes headlines. It ensures heatwaves make the front pages, or the billion dollar loss of Californian crops to unusual frost or early arrival of migrant birds in spring. BUT they will point out the east Antartica is getting colder or global air temperatures haven't changed that much since 1999.
They will point out that it is just a levelling off and that the sun drives climate change rather than greenhouse gases and it is just the latest in a long string of similar events produced by a hyper-active sun.
Other scientists disagree and have warned that current rates of greenhouse gas emissions if unchecked would unleash devastating droughts, floods and a huge increase in human suffering.
They argue there is a rapid melting of the Artic ice cap and in the last couple of years Artic sea ice is at an all time low. Climatologists report new data that the rate of ocean rise has caused consternation.
Or maybe it is all apart of Bible prophecy..You have heard of the 'four riders of the apocolypse' in Revelation or Jesus sermon on the mount where he talked of the signs of the last days, including false prophets, wars, increase in famine and earthquakes. Some devout religious people truly believe we are living in the last days and God 'will bring to ruin those ruining the earth' - Revelation Chapter 11; verse 18.
Is this what you believe...and it doesn't matter what we try to do to stop climate change!
For me whatever one of the three view points that reflect your own, i think we should get the world we live in now to change and prepare our children and their children for the future...there is wonderful technology available that we can put into use now if only the world leaders would commit bigger spending to, rather than bailing out banks or increase spending in weapons.
German engineers have invented a machine that turns sewage into charcoal and feeding the charcoal to plants makes them grow quicker.
