The Game of Life 10/28/2009 11:40:47 AM
Winning in the game of life demands focused efforts, and decisive actions if we are to experience the personal growth needed for success.
Life is wonderful, challenging, many times unpredictable,and frequently baffling. Too often we are faced with challenge after challenge that can leave us off center.
During these times we must know that what we are experiencing is just a part of life's rhythms, and each of us at some point in our lives experiences all of life: Its Good, Its Bad, and Its Ugly.
It is especially important during each phase of life to remember that it is merely a phase, and like all phases, it too will end.
Accepting the various stages of life as normal and needed, will help us to move through each phase more successfully, and we will begin to get more satisfaction out of 'the game of life,'no matter what phase we are experiencing at any given time.
Just as we prepare to participate in a game or sport, so that we have fun, even when we lose, we must prepare ourselves for the game of life. Doing so will help us to get more out of "The Game" regardless of the phase in which we find ourselves.
To experience personal growth during each phase of life's game, we must pay close attention to the following:
1. Attitude: Having,or getting the right attitude, will allow us to get the most growth out of any phase of life's game. Remembering to be thankful, for the good we have experienced in the past, will help us to get or maintain the right perspective during that part of the game that is most challenging;
2. Focus: With the right focus or concentrated effort, we will be able to identify what we can do,to help ourselves, to lessen the damage perhaps,during a particularly challenging stage of life. Focusing on the problem will prolong it;
3. Action: Once we have identified the appropriate action to take, we must plunge ahead quickly and decisively;
4. Discipline:Exercising discipline during the game of life is vital in all phases.
It is during both good and bad challenges that we are most tempted to slack off, because during the good times when we can clearly see the goal, the tendency is to relax,slow the momentum, and during the more challenging times,when the goal appears to be no where in view,we can become discouraged and slow the pace.
As we consider 'the many phases of life's game, let's remember that no phase lasts forever. The challenge is replaced with triumph,in time, and the triumph gives way to challenge.
Remember,life is not a fad; all phases,the good, the bad,and the ugly,are natural, and necessary parts of 'The Game of Life.'
What To Do Next: Identify the thing (s) you do consistently to win at "The Game of Life."Post a Comment More Blogs by Barbara J Henry Epiphanies and Pivots - Saturday, September 16, 2023 It's Time for School! - Thursday, August 31, 2023 What is Your Superpower? - Monday, July 24, 2023 Summer is Here! - Wednesday, June 21, 2023 Thank a Veteran ! - Tuesday, May 30, 2023 America!
