THE STRANGE HABITS OF CATS 8/12/2009 6:13:08 AM
An observation on cats and their very odd ways. Over the last fifteen years four cats have lived with us, one still is here, right next to asleep on a window ledge. When I look back over the years it has struck me how they all had their own way of doing things.
Take dear old Eric, a big cuddley cat, ginger and with white splashes. There was nothing more he liked than to have a few sheets of newspaper laid over the top of him and he was away. Off to sleep. Occasionaly one of the others would pass the mound of newspaper, see it move slightly and pounce only to run like mad as he angrily emerged hissing at them.
Then take dear old Scratch, a tortoise shell, she was a theif, now I do not say that to be unkind, but she on occasions could have had us arrested for stealing some nieghbors diiner. One saturday afternoon she came flying in through the rear garden door, she was in such a hurry she almost crashed into the fridge door, and no wonder, in her mouth a string of four sausages, uncooked. Who knows where they had been stolen from.
And what about Buddy, a tabby, he is with us now. There is nothing he likes more than to go out the front on our drive and lie on his back his legs swinging in the air as he rolls from side to side. Morning, evening, rain or shine, his 'roly-poly' is almost a dialy routine.
Not forgetting Chi-Chi, a black with white splashes cat who, loved nothing more than hearing our next door nieghbors back door open, whoosh she was up and over the fence in manner most unbecoming for a lady, addicted to food, she was most put out when things were rationed.
Being a cat can be a dogs life when humans interfere.
