Verdict! 5/16/2010 1:32:13 AM
Well, finally went to bed at 2am. I often find that on my first night here, I have difficulty sleeping, I think its because I'm up early for the train and then get past the optimum time for sleep before bedtime. Anyway I got to sleep OK at 2am, only to be wakened at 5 by two drunks making their leisurely way into the park and singing 'Nick-nack-paddy-wack' (although a very different version to the one I know!). I managed to go back to sleep though and then woke again at 9am ready to face the day.
Its almost full summer here in Warwick - very different to Scotland where its still frosty in the mornings- and my view of the castle is hidden again behind the leaves of the trees in the gardens (LwtLoLA). I'm going downstairs in a while to get David's verdict on my embryonic novel. If he says its rubbish then that's that. If he thinks its ok then tomorrow I begin on Chapter 4. Today is a day of rest and I plan to go and buy a new camera before going up to C's to see them and the dogs again.
Max and Molly are growing now but are still very naughty. C bought an old sofa to put in the conservatory/dog room for them to lie on in the daytime. Did I say 'lie on'. It has proved to be the best toy ever and its now reduced to just the frame. The four cushions have been demolished into little pieces and strewn around the room! C & M are slowly preparing a large dog run in the garden to house them, but until then they are still living in the conservatory where they have dominion over everything it contains (not much left now though!) Happily they only go into the main house when supervised so that remains intact.
M's daughter and her little sister (not M's) are over for the day and its to be a gardening day. The little sister is a very extrovert child who comes out with the funniest things and so I'm looking forward to today's funnies. M's daughter is quite the opposite and is quite mature for her nine years and despairs over her sister's sayings.
