Low, Arvie, Americans and the Ryder Cup! 10/3/2010 12:37:59 AM

Sorry for the delay in blogging, but life down in England was very busy. Sadly Fred is now entering his last days and I spent three days with his wife (my cousin)getting the house ready for him to come out of hospital. His wish is to die at home and now that he is paralysed from the neck down, things had to be organised and a care package put in place. He is now home.
Coupled with that and on a much happier note, Morgan's family - father, step mother and step brother (Sam aged 8) - flew in last week from Phoenix, Arizona to spend ten days in England. I really enjoyed meeting them. We went out to eat on Friday night in Leamington and next week Morgan is bringing them up to the Lake District to see the village that their family came from in the early 1800s and then they are coming on up to Low Arvie for one night to see a bit of Scotland.
Here at Low Arvie, its a very wet picture at the moment (not quite as bad as at Celtic Manor though!) There was quite a lot of banter between us about the Ryder Cup as Morgan is a keen golfer and I love following the matches. Currently we (Europe)are behind in points but ahead in on-going matches, so its about even, I would say! Whoever wins, it will provide us with more opportunities for patriotic talk next Thursday! I have told them that their B&B bill depends on the outcome!
Cow-wise we have six new calves at the moment with more ready to appear any time. So far all have been born during the night and with no problems. Four heifers and two bull calves.
