I don't usually toot my own horn...but this is too good not to share....
I was recognized with an award at work last week. To say that I was dumbfounded was an understatement. You see, I am one who does their job and hopes that I am doing my personal best, but I never really thought that my PB was good enough to warrant recognition.
I was awarded my own parking spot and all kinds of other perks...I was pleased. :) Not to mention that this particular award is the top award given...I was floored!
And what makes it all the sweeter is that this award proves to me just how worthy I am...you see...as a married person, I once debated about applying for a similar position at another company. I was told in a oh so condescending tone that well....I may be good at the job...but, well...I probably just didn't quite have the skills to
"cut it". I never applied.
When I was divorced...I was left to figure out how to handle ALL of the marital finances myself and so, I had to take a second job, And yes, this is the job that I was just recognized for...funny....I "thought" I didn't quite have the skills.......
