I look at the barrenness of it all...my beautiful home lay in ruins. Remnants of the flood. As I look at the shambles, I remember was that only a few mere weeks ago? There was laughter within these walls...even through the tragedy of it all. Neighbor helping neighbor, friends lending a hand, families pitching in to help loved ones.
But now, there is emptiness....the quiet is suffocating..as choking as the mold that creeps up the walls threatening to choke the very life of this home...and there is you...
Or rather memories of you...we met in this tragedy and I thought that maybe, just maybe there would be a purpose to all that I have had to endure...but there is only silence where the laughter once resided and I am left empty and wondering why.....why God?
