It is dangerous to judge the citizens of a whole nation, or indeed a whole culture, by the deeds of any individual or any group, perpetrated in the name of any mass-motivating concept or cause. And it is dangerous because the deeds of those individuals or groups, fueled by generalizing (thus grossly inaccurate) estimations, can turn into all-encompassing thoughtlessness, rage and violence from which ALL will suffer. Beyond blatantly manipulative images and lines, deliberately repeated to sickness in order to show only one perspective and drill it into unquestioning minds to the point of obliterating sense and thought itself, information and education MUST be sought about other perspectives within any issue, because they DO exist. A whole nation is composed of individuals and harbors many cultures, a whole culture is, again, composed of and stemming from individuals within many nations. The human being has consistently made a point of establishing a distinction between itself and other animals and of establishing the superiority of its species over the others, hardly grasping its own contradiction and incoherence when it comes to cease exerting its inborn (natural) capacity of discretion and begin to act like one of those so called “inferior” species – be it by becoming sheep in a herd under the staff of a shepherd, or the pack of hungry wolves who will eat the sheep and the shepherd, or terrified bulls fleeing, in blind stampede, from a meadow on fire, and trampling all smaller creatures which may happen to be in their way in the process: Sheep don’t “think”, they follow; Hungry wolves don’t “think”, they eat; Terrified bulls don’t “think”, they trample; In what way, indeed, are human beings any better when they stop thinking? Fellow human beings ought to encourage one another to THINK (and this means questioning what may even seem obvious or beyond any argument, always seeking to learn further, and unceasingly pondering upon such learnings), so they can stop, instead, adding to the strength of the staff which falls on the sheep’s back, to the hunger of the wolves, and to the fire which causes blind stampedes.
