Happy new year

Well, I lived another year.
Still no clue as to what I really want to do with my life besides writing or working at some job. My life hasn't gone according to plan. But it could still turn out for the best.
Another year passed, let's see what I accomplished:
And there you have it! Mostly nothing. Didn't write a book. No short stories. Didn't earn oodles of cash. Didn't win the lottery. In fact, I anti-accomplished. I would say that I spent a lot of the year in reverse gear.
DEPRESSING! I know. Sorry if you are reading this blog to get happy, so sorry! I like to come here to bitch and moan about things. Maybe you can find some solace in the fact that we both have things to complain about. Find something to complain about and then do it! That's and order, soldier!
Back to reality.
I still don't understand why people come to listen to my lugrubious wailings. Perhaps they are just as bored as I am?
On a lighter note. I got quoted!
Yes I do Google myself now and again just to give my ego a little shot in the arm. This time I found that someone from Portugal (I think it was that country) had quoted my poem "Expectations" on a site. This is the second time a poem of mine has been quoted by someone from a foreign country. Both poems ("Expectations" and "Commercial Schism") were accompanied by very appropriate pictures of bleakness. Hurrah! More bleakness, please.
Also my poem "A very short poem" was on a list of short poems about friends and such. Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on that. I hope they aren't putting it on birthday cards or something. I would be pissed, the more so because I can't do anything about it! Then again, maybe it's a good thing, as long as they quote me correctly. Why do I think about such things? In any case "A very short poem" accounts for 1/5 of my traffic to this site. Weird to think that I wrote it in less than five minutes one sunny morning in college and now 11,000 people have read the thing. I don't even particularly like it just because it is so short, but I guess it goes good with the masses.
