I put gas in my car. I was so cold I couldn't feel the gas cap.
My car sucks. The tailpipe is held on with a coat hanger. No lie. Every time I drive it I'm afraid that I will die. I wish I had a better car but no dice. That's what happens when you get a car for free and don't have the money to fix it.
It has, however, gotten me many places that I needed to go. So I am grateful for that. I'm sure if you've ever owned a beater car then you know what situation I'm in. Fix it and keep driving, or wait it out and buy a new one when I can?
Such are the dilemmas of life.
I noticed that hundreds of people are now flocking to my blog since I write every day (just about). I'm assuming that means that I am somehow interesting.
I started editing my books again beginning with the very first. This time they sound childish in my head, almost like a children's book, but not quite. There has to be a big market for children's fantasy. I know a lot of other authors are out there selling the same thing. It's just that rejection part I can't deal with. Don't know exactly why but when someone says no to me I feel like taking it out on them, and sometimes I do. That's my problem, I know, but it surely doesn't help me getting books published.
Also, there's this self publisher called Synergy that I researched after contacting another author on this site. It turns out that it costs $40,000. Who the hell has that kind of money lying around? Are we to simply read the stories of people who already have that much disposable income? There must be plenty of people out there who don't have that much and deserve publication. I guess finding them is the problem.
So I'm going to send back the materials they are sending me. I didn't realize how insane they were until I saw their prices on another site, because they aren't on the Bookpros website, which is connected to Synergy. What a waste of everyone's time. If they'd published their prices to begin with we wouldn't be in this mess. I didn't even know they were a self publisher until I saw it on that other site.
