emsgs from radio interview 7/2/2004 7:35:31 AM
I do occasional interviews with radio stations (hopefully more in the future). I want the listener to be able to send me questions and get the station involved. How better than to set up a special email address involving the name of the radio station or show (or other point of contact). That gets the host involved.
At this point I am setting up the email address authorsden.the79scenario.com. Send me an email and get a response. That is all it takes.
How did I do it? Simple, since I control the email at my website, I simply set the default for misaddressed mail to a special account. That way I collect everything that is emailed to a non-existant account at the79scenario.com in that special account.
If the email is addressed to one of the stations I have said on the air (or authorsden in this case), I will open it. Everything else I trash immediately.
Note that I only have to do this once. I can tell the audience of an address and it is immediately available.
Also, by sorting on recipient I can group messages pertaining to the different shows.
