25 minutes live
This morning I did a live 25 minute interview with Don Zukowski at WLPO-AM in La Salle, IL. They had felt a 4.1 magnitude temblor there on 6/28 and Don found my ad in RTIR.
Don was a very kind interviewer and we had a good chat. I pointed out that that area might feel more temblors but there were no big structures around to cause them real grief. Their big threat comes from the New Madrid Fault, 400 miles away.
I made use of the script I had been preparing for review by Michael Dresser and found I really have to ad lib while using the sound bites from the script. At least there were several times where I plugged my book. However, I don't think I did very well on the "refresh every 7 minutes" rule: the audience will be replaced every 7 minutes, so repeat your key points that often.
Michael is right: interviewing is an acquired skill.
