Yesterday was one of those days that you ask yourself, "What in the world was I thinking?" There was so much going on that I couldn't really keep myself together without doing my ritualistic silent scream by the end of the day.
It started off with a successful art show at McRaes Metrocenter, where I was able to show off my mini-cd project TRACKS OF LOVE for the first time. From there I took a small break before I had to get ready for my radio talk show. I was interviewing Ike Myers (Motown Brown), discussing the grand opening of his arts cafe, the Lyric Lounge, this weekend, when I was told that we had a caller. It was none other than Jolivette Anderson, the Poet Warrior, who has moved out of Mississippi to Indiana. After her show me some love--- and me trying to do the same to her--- the show ended and I had to make my way home to my apartment for a first for me, an interview in my own element.
Stacia Glasgow, a television talk show host on Channel 18 (Public Access) had filmed me at the radio station for her show and then wanted to come to my place for a one-on-one. It was a scary thing, but I enjoyed it. She great at making you feel at ease and comfortable, and I have never been so candid on camera before with anyone when it came to my artwork and my inspiration.
All in all a great day.
But this is just the beginning of the week. I have a bit of a break today, before I have to do one show tomorrow, two on Friday, and another one on Saturday. In the middle of all of that, I will be working 48 hours at the hotel.
What can I say? Just another week in the life of C. A. Webb.
