Listen to the voice of reason. The voice that directs you to do the right thing. The voice that calms, you when you’re stress. The voice that comforts you, when you’re sad. I refer to that voice as the wisdom of God. If you don’t hear it , it’s because you’re not listening.
Also, listen to the people who you can trust their judgment. They may have a valuable input to assist you. Listen to constructive criticism. Family and friends may be able to detect a change in you. Sometimes, we are in still in denial to see it for ourselves.
My daughter told me that I was in denial. Her words, “ You need to move on. He(my son) is not coming back.” I heard the words, but I didn’t listen. My denial stopped me from truly listening. Twelve months later, I realized she was right. Guess what? I should have listened.
