This may be oversimplifying and there are always exceptions to the rules.
Situation: You’re pregnant with your first child. You’re scheduled for a caesarian section. What friend will you call for solace?
Your 35 year old virgin? Or your friend that gave birth to 2 children by natural childbirth?
Your first friend offers support, but lacks the experience you need. The second friend may not know about having children through a surgical technique, but her experience in giving birth gives her an edge up.
Translation: Talk to people in your situation or may have some experience. Avoid the ones who are quick to criticize or judge. Stay away from the gossip seekers who appear to have a listening ear, but have a flapping tongue. Talk to people you can trust.
If needed, talk to a professional for medical, mental or emotional assistance.
Talk to God or your clergyman for spiritual assistance.
Talk to someone to help to lift the pressures off your chest.
