Writing is one of the things that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else. That, and singing and playing music.

Eons ago, when I was frightened of writing ,I would find a zillion things to do rather than sit with pen in hand. That frozen condition seems a lifetime ago. Now, thanks to Natalie Goldberg, the words, the balance, the cadence is in my bones. Passion replaced guilt.

Working with a super talented artist these past five years has been a Godsend. And becoming a contributing author to two more anthologies  recently eradicated most fears on most days.

I am getting much better at not spraying my stories with my adjective gun, not shooting the hell out of them. I hardly notice the holes when I remove the adverb bullets. My serial babbles are becoming fewer and farther between.

I should be writing. I am writing. I am a writer worth reading. Everything else can wait.
