It's not what you gather in life, it's what you scatter.

I've been far away and close by.

I've been gathering and scattering love. I've been allowing myself to surrender to the story, the situation, the issues, the moments equally frightening and exciting.

There are things about my children and my friends I will never understand. I just ponder them in my heart. We humans rebel yet we long to surrender.

Sharon Randall says, "A mother's heart, like her apron strings, is meant to be broken."

I've been away from blogging, but not my writing. Not completely. Health issues, mine and others' have distracted me for periods of time. Turned me into a phone commiseratta, whatever that is.

And I have traveled to see family because I'm a face person. I want to read each face, blot every move of body language, absorb emotional depth radiating from each pair of eyes. I need to inhale your voice while you are using it to connect with me.

Then and only then perhaps I can focus anew.
