Is there a review site for plumbing contractors? I knew it would take a while but six months for a major unfinished plumbing repair? Now really, that is entirely unacceptable! I haven't yet informed our plumber that I could (could, mind you) get him a whole lot of free publicity on the Internet, but I have been sorely tempted. After finally giving him a very reasonable additional 30 days to complete the work -- which message he has also ignored -- I've thrown in the towel.
Yes, he started out doing us a huge favor in between his "full-paying" clients because we have large medical bills. But six months of lugging heavy buckets of water, in addition to drowning the back yard is not much of a favor in the eyes of most people. If a person doesn't want to finish a job, then kindly provide a referral to someone who does and who might also offer a discount, though not as large as his, obviously.
I've reached the point where I would sell my first-born child to get this mess fixed. Fortunately for the salvation of my soul, I don't have a first-born child to sell, though others have offered me theirs on a bad day.
It is hard to work from home -- let alone write creatively -- while herding cats away from the underground smells, steering an ill relative and trying to remember to step around huge holes in the floor. There really should be a review site for plumbing contractors!
