Still vivid in my mind, as if it were only yesterday,
I watched as in my wife’s arms my newborn daughter lay.
If I had to describe her then in some certain way,
Pretty, pink and perfect is all that I would say.

The little girl that we had hoped for on that day came to be,
A precious gift from God was given to her mom and me.
He gave to us her brother it was just the year before,
Now the Lord had blessed us once again and gave us even more.

My mind is full of memories of the years in which she grew,
Her hair of blond would shine and her blue eyes would sparkle too.
Banana curls would fall from the blond hair upon her head,
But as my girl grew older that hair of blond would turn to red.

I cherish every hug and kiss that from her I would get,
And now she’s grown but those hugs and kisses I get yet.
She’s been such a blessing to my life, is the least that I can say,
And my eyes first fell upon her, twenty years ago today.
