What you see is not what you get. What you think you get is often greater than reality.

Poem Artwork

From my back porch, I view the sunset,

it is an event I will never forget.

In reality, I see only a setting sun,

but what counts is what I feel when it is gone.

From my front porch, I see the baby playing on the lawn,

it is an event I will never forget.

In reality, I see only a new life at its dawn,

but what counts is what I feel when I am drawn.

From my heaven, I see my front porch and back too,

there were many events I will never forget.

I reality, I see where my life has been,

but what counts is what I feel after I am gone.

The reality of all this,

leads me to a life of bliss.

Now I realize my true fate,

as I stand in front of St Peter's gate.

Such a beautiful poem, and such profound, wise thoughts! I think one of the greatest lessons I have learned in this lifetime is that even a slight shift in perspective can alter one's sense of perception of reality.

Wonderful indeed, Dr. M!
