She and He

 

Before gender identity

 

Played

 

In Grandma’s attic

 

In the trunk of her youth

 

With sequined dresses, flowered hats

 

Peach slips, creamy heels

 

Frilly limpid bras, feather boas, strings of beads

 

The dead mink stoll

 

Out of sight, Out of mind
