Transcendental Sonnet #1290: *Reclusive Inclusive* *I called up the supermarket to ask* *If I could buy my apples with a check* *The lady who answered allowed her mask* *To slip a bit and she asked "What the heck* *Do you think people do and where have you* *Been? Under a rock somewhere?" That was fair* *As it was an unusual question* *So I took her up on her suggestion* *And emerged from my reclusivity* *At least for forty-five minutes or so* *Fired up my old Chrysler and go man go* *I found some brown rice which was very nice* *Ten pounds of apples and boxes of tea* *They accepted a check ...even from me* *+Steven Curtis Lance* *Copyright MMV*
