My Grandma died five years ago today And I have struggled ever since to stay In this home place with the help of some friends My hair now less whole cloth and more of lace Having left to God the means with the ends And more like Grandma every day I know Whom I shall see again soon face to face Here I must wait until my time to go
I picked a bird of paradise for her While still in bud and now it lifts its wings Arising in memorial full bloom In mourning fights and flights which never were A song something like the night raven sings Echoes in me as Grandma fills the room
Steve- This is so touching and Sweet. A Tribute fit a queen, your grandmother is smiling down on you right now!
I Love bird of paradise, we have many around some unique looking yards around here! I just gaze at their grace, as I drive by! GREAT Write Steve! I'm baccccccck, sorry- I had to be gone so long, I haven't been on the pC. in months and now I am catching up! I missed reading-commenting and writing lately! I NEED it! I dropped in 4-5 recent writings, if you care to wander over to my corner of the den and read. Hope your touched as I feel being here! PEACE! and Light! WArm HuGs, Sheeeoxxo
