Like a Knife
On the knife
Of this life
I live on the blade
And not the handle
My light on
Until dawn
My burning candle
Both ends unafraid
It makes it hard to sleep
When you live where
The drop is sheer and steep
And when you care
I want to stay awake
To burn both ends
My mirror does not break
Because it bends
My light will be on
As long as it takes
All night until dawn
Bends mirrors and breaks
My map to the stars
Drawn in battle scars
My burning candle
Both ends unafraid
Love is like a knife
The sharp edge of life
And this knife is made
Without a handle
