"So if you are only and lonely I hope we find us"

Friendship River

for Giancarlo Vega

Up down and all around a world of people of all kinds
A river flows of friendship through the meetings of our minds
We find ourselves in one another in good company
And we like one another like being able to see
Another turning and returning as we find us where
We need us when we need us who remind us then and there

That then and there is when and where we need us as we learn
That as we turn and we return someone is being there
With us that we are not alone that someone cares the way
Only a friend cares one who shares both time and history
With the perspective of the elective and just because
Since we have known each other life is better than it was

Some people like to be only but that can be lonely
I for one like to have a friend or two or three or four
And not only do I like them but I like to make more
So if you are only and lonely I hope we find us
As we found each other being to find our being where
Friendship is flowing between tomorrow and yesterday

The river between when and then before and behind us
Laughing with us finding comedy within tragedy
Between what goes and never comes and what we have today
Asking nothing sharing everything turning to return
Up down and all around a world of people of all kinds
A river flows of friendship through the meetings of our minds

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani
