for Daffodil
The lazy cat is snoring
His indoor life is boring
He wants to go a-whoring
And be a lion roaring
But he cannot anymore
Curled with indignation for
He wanted to get married
Though unwilling to commit
And lazy then he tarried
So he got the worst of it
And the moment passed away
Lost then to be found no more
When crated up and carried
To the vet to be set free
Of his masculinity
Yesterday and now today
All he does with it is pee
No one knows quite what to say
That was that and this is it
A lonely situation
So he finds his life a bore
And he has issues of trust
His desire but memory
Iron having turned to rust
Fit felinity to fat
He would like to go to war
To satisfy his bloodlust
For the moles within their holes
Laughing at him as they are
In the deep sleep of the just
Could he only find the door
Or within himself to face
Surgically enhanced disgrace
He would give those moles what for
They would hear the lion roar
This is it and that is that
So he answers with a snore
Sleep it is so sleep he must
The only consolation
For a lonely lazy cat
But when he dreams he sees
What might have been:
All the pretty kitties
Then again
