The sun goes down through pink to purple then
Darkness follows its light into the night
Through indigo to black and gone till when
It comes back up the other side again
As by its death it reclaims its birthright
Within the balance of darkness and light
When it moves on forgotten but not gone
We worry but it does not hurry for
The sun knows it goes where it came before
So should we know who would then we could see
It go where it was but it does because
Going and coming as it always does
Is how it is now as it always was
And may it be that it may always be
When the day is gone then the sun moves on
To light the world right round all night till dawn
But this is us turning toward and away
Learning tomorrow tonight from today
