Poem Artwork

Friday night and the moon rides the clouds
Over the billboard where I stay
Sheltering here away from the crowds
Of those who speak but do not say
Or at least not anything to me
And if they do I wish they did not
For those I love are far away

Let me remember what I forgot
Alone in a lonely place to be

Saturday morning the sun comes up
I do too and go for a cup
Of high rev at 7 11
Life goes on and so do I it seems
Not in hell if not in heaven
Under the sun of another day
Saturday morning with my dreams

Under the sun to wonder my way
Over the billboard where I stay

Forlorn is a good word for this piece. Seeking love in the cloud formations is like winning the lottery--few do.

Such a feeling of 'lost' do I get from this poem. "Let me remember what I forgot" is forelorn and yet sensitively, endearingly expressive. Speaking and not saying....very explicative of social distance. I want to put a bandaid on this poem. A bright green cartoon bandaid, like Woodstock and Snoopy. Hmmmmm. ~~ Diana

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
