Landslide

Standing here…the ledge of your life
The rocks below sharp and steep
Pines line the path with strife
Cautious steps is what you need

Can feel the shifts and slides
Of life as it changes faces
Watching as the earth and moon collide
Shattering future beliefs in disgrace

Can’t out run our fate
Hold tight to those lies
Nature loves to hate
Your soul it does divide

Left unwarmed by suns light
Stone cold ruins lay in waste
Landslides in dust of white
Snickers of fools debased

Is this the beginning of the end?
Or the end of the beginning?
When did life start?
Who decides how it ends?

You give life to just have it taken away
Cycles running circles around you
Reach out and grab life’s decay
Never look back, wave this world adieu

Leave others in shambles
Picking up memories pieces
Pointing fingers and doing battle
You need not worry, you found release.

And life goes on as we fall, and maybe in some way something survives our passing. All we can be sure of is that constant change never slows and everything is different today from what it was yesterday. Bill
