Why do I fail at love?

Seeing that perfect sunset

Go behind a cloud;

That special meal, lost

When I’m not hungry?

My heart keeps growing

For someone out there.

Where is she?

Who is she?

Will I ever know love?

This feeling won’t ever

Leave my heart;

It’s there forever and

We’ll not be apart;

She’s there I know.

We write our book

Trying as we go;

Accepting the ending

While needlessly defending,

Seeing love for what it is.

Love just is,

Not what we want,

Not what we need;

But anything and everything;

She’s always been there.

All there's left to do

Is open my eyes

And see the view;

It's there before me;

And always was.
