True Love Lost

The hardest thing to do is to love fully and not be loved in return.

Poem Artwork
TRUE LOVE LOST

They say love lost
grows the heart.
Maybe that is for those
who are trying to love.

I’ve loved another
like no other,
and my heart is bleeding
like never before.

Our love was perfect—
for me, but not for her;
I wanted what I had,
but she wanted more.

As I try to say goodbye,
my heart only bleeds more;
I am lonely and sad
in this heartfelt darkness.

Will I ever love
and be loved the same?
Or is true love just a torch
we pass on to others?

Indeed... to Love and yet not to be loved in return...or to be loved just to a degree... Is it because we all need to love with an unconditional love thereby NOT expecting the complete package...hmmm..this is why I am obssessed by the Twin Flame concept..a perfect Love with all the trimmings..that does not mean without the challanges..it just means with ALL the trimmings...
nice write William
