Watching from some ominous point,

                  slithering inside the fabric of night,

memories linger with such lament,

                  shattering our illusions of reality.

Faces stare inside the mind,

                  forever etched in absolute clarity.

Feelings enter sharply and strongly,

                  flowing like an endless ocean.

Just within our grasp,

                  we reach for a phantom touch;

knowing a presence has surely passed,
