One summer, while visiting a military museum that's part of the Volo Antique Auto Museum Complex in Illinois, I saw a display promoting a "Haunted Battlefield" spook walk set for Halloween at the museum.
Strange, but a tour of some of the displays, which include battlefield scenes and tapes of battle action, a ghost walk might seem a bit redundant.

A black building in the middle of a down-home theme park,

a fearsome structure, drawing in those with the sound of terror.

A long, well-traveled path, with arrows for  brave tourist souls to trod.

On each side, the faces of fear with intermittent signs of courage.

The plastic faces of intense men, the faces of courage, hiding the fear within,

as ammo bursts and tommy blasts reshape the forboding paths.

Gernade explosions leave shattered men to haunt the darkened houses

and broken walls, quiet lives blown apart by the carnage.

while wounded men scream and moan and suffer.

Come All Hallows Eve, a plastic skeleton in olive drab

invites all who dare to a spook walk inside the war zone.

Do the volunteer zombies and the howling part-time ghosts

Do justice

to the horrors they represent?
