It comes in waves Forcing me to steel myself Lest I give in And fail to resist The temptation To give up my life To escape it. It is the sluice That silently steals who I am As it seeps into My bones Draining away My strength Sapping my energy Impoverished by its presence I cling to the old self That I remember The me that existed Before pain Became my Constant companion. Bobbie, I too, know PAIN all too well, Have lived with it consistently 24/7 the past 14 years! If there is anything I can do, let me know,ok? If you need an Angel, let me know that too!
