I wandered lonely, through the rain, that poured from skies of grey,
I met a lady in the night, her name, she said, was Fay.
Her hair was straggly from the rain, mascara down her face,
In her eyes there dwelt such pain, her bearing so much grace.
I asked the girl from whence she came, she said, ´from far away,
A land I dearly miss so much, I must go back some day.
I came to here to join a man, I met in cyber space,
He promised me a love so strong, to meet me face to face.´
I asked the girl, ´then why so sad? Did not you meet your man?'
She said, 'I did and nice he was, and all went true to plan.´
´But still I see the sadness there´ I said with sympathy.
She said, ´ I learned to love him much and also he loved me.´
´I think the streaks upon your face are not just from the rain,
I see the sorrow in your eyes, Your face it bears much pain.´
She said, ´our love was very dear, with passion , love and fire,
He was my life, my everything, but that man was a liar.´
I was intrigued by what she said and asked her to expand,
She said, ´he left me all alone, lost in this foreign land.
His health, he´d said, was good and strong, but that was just a lie,
I never thought he´d leave me here, I never thought he´d die.´
I watched her, sad and lonely soul, walk, head bowed, in the rain,
Disease so bad had claimed her love, she´d watched him die in pain.
She´ll find a way to go home to, the land for which she yearned,
No more she men in cyberspace, her painful lesson learned.
