The great ideas all come from mice
from the words of all great literature
to recipes with rice
they invented computers
they invented beer
in the middle of the night
when the time is right
they whisper in your ear

they invented porcelain
they inspire all fine art
mice invented cars and boats
and the humble bakewell tart
from medical procedures
to the style of surgeon's hats
but never guns and bombs and spears
those things came from rats

Rats invented politics
inspiring all great wars
prostitution on the streets
and Banks, financial whores
loans and debt and government
poverty and crime
engineering these ideas
is how rats spend their time

if you want a world of peace and love
a world that's really nice
remember all the best ideas
only come from mice
