Bitter Onions

Poem Artwork

First cut pierces thin skin

Bloodless coup begins

Eyes water in response

The words cut again

Shallow syllables - narrow gage

Onomatopoeia – Click-clack-click-clack

Blade speak - cutting ever deeper

Attention diverts

Tears momentarily controlled

Proverbial heat continues to rise

The game has changed

Onomatopoeia returns - sizzle ensues

External forces stir the steamy participants

Infusing within each

That which was missing before

Caramelized perfection consummated

Sometimes bitter onions

Can make the sweetest soup

And a blade the tongue of deception

Patrick....

Great poem about one of my fqavorite subjects: onions. I especially like the big Vidalia ones. I guess my attitude is comparable to that of Homer Simpson's about doughnuts...

This is a charmer! And I defy anyone who can find anything more delicious than onion rings or French onion soup...or a really good passionate fight with plenty of making up afterwards.

Sounds like the Witch's Stew beat the Devil to the soup line! Chowder reasoning cause and effect can whip the reprobate under the Last Supper Table! A diversion of supposedly good deeds in another cover-up in the stew, Criers and Jealous skins peeled and diced, oh when will they exit the menu?
