I should probably know better.
I am not a liberal Nor am I of the far right Or of the right Or of the left of right Or of the right of left I just am Martin King had a dream It almost came true Rodney King had a bad dream It did come true Right or left It was everyone’s nightmare Polarize That’s what we do Red Scarves Blue Scarves No Scarves Tattoos Neck ties Bow ties Noose We all wear the noose Admit it or not Deathbed advocate Pull the plug Or not Or why Or why not Dollars prolong misery Misery prolongs dollars Justification Life is sacred Justification Life is cheap Ask the petrified widow to be Ask the relieved widow that is Ask the soldier on the ground Ask the suicide bomber Ask a pair of deranged baseball fans Ask yourself Is life sacred Or is it cheap Or is it just life Until it ends Copyright 2011 Patrick Granfors

Write on! I can't see why people get so polarized over something that is as natural as life and death. It's as though they have learned nothing from history and how ideologies perpetuate fallacies as though they were true. It's a good thing a few poets out there are thinking and not just following.
