Will you beat me down if I speak my mind because I see the things you have brought to me and have shown me, for this is what you wanted me to see in the first place.
You want me to know that every day I wake up I'm that much closer to you stripping the things that we here have grown to love. It's just a little bit of freedom and not too much farther from where we come, but it's been the blindness that has lead us to believe this here world we live in is free or will your hearts look different and disagree?
Just another lie this mind has told over and over and when the light came bursting in, it was the light that got me up and when I stood these two feet planted and not firmly on this dirt, the cry of thirst came pouring out.
Yes thirsty I am because now I know that it is courage that leads me to the saying, I just can't take no more. You colored your words to hide the deceit that despises the air I breathe, and every time I take that breath, you holla in your mind, die fool, die.
A stain of color which endured the pain plastered by the dirty ole eyes of disgrace, the feet that where some kind of hell, well, it's here, and whether your Black, White, Puerto Rican, Yellow, Beige, Red or Olive, we are all here and in this together.
From the bombs that burst with flames, colored and filled with black chalky words, saying you ain't free, to the cries you can't hear, strangled our belief and we weren't free, but it's in our hearts that change is gonna come around and make us all free.
It's like walking out the door, but, coming back because you prayed, and you believed that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong, and all that is wrong is just because we don't pray together because together we are free.
It is when we divide that we are not free and only God adds and multiplies his abundant blessings which restores us to be free.
Caught off guard with greed that layered the tongue, and yes it was he that cast the first word and it was you who wasn't use to what we had encountered and it was rage that we had first encountered, asking, do you wann live like me, or do you want to be finally set free?
Freedom caught us off guard and when we weren't looking someone with greed, anger and no reasoning had no reason, snatched it away and if we weaken our words then we will see saying, now with all the years gone by, we, too, here live like any other country, enslaved and not free and there's no exits, only death.
Again, and yes we must remember, prayer adds and multiplies changing all things to come through his grace, and division, divides, it takes away, and it strips all the things not yet seen.
Did you forget where you were?
