I have often thought that we are far too focused nowadays on whether a person is a "winner" or a "loser". These labels mislead us. First, they can easily become self-fulfilling prophesies. Second, they can paralyze us. We can be so terrified of making a mistake or looking like an idiot that we do not learn what we need to learn to move forward. If I look at anyone I know whom I would consider to be successful, their road to success is strewn with failures, false starts, dead ends and quite a few downright awkward characters who have made life difficult. This piece expresses it all so well: by embracing our confusion we find our way to clarity.
