What shall I do this Christmas morn.
When the sun will rise to greet the day.
When Kids will yell to greet the dawn.
Dragged from my bed they’ll get their way.
Presents opened, and papers across the floor.
Sounds of laughter, will lead the way
Breakfast served, bacon eggs and more
They’ll run outside to run and play.
Kookaburras laughing in the trees
The old King Brown cool in his drain.
The dog sits and scratches, Sods got fleas.
Not a cloud in the sky to herald rain.
The Bar-b-que’s lit, coals getting hot
Temperature’s cool, only a hundred and five.
Salad’s made and crisp in the fridge.
I take off my shirt as I’m starting to fry.
The Turkey is cooking under the lid.
The chicken was cooked late last night.
Six hungry mouths wait to be fed
The Dog sits in hope that he’ll get a bite.
I know I’ll remember my youthful days
Knee deep snow, holly, and mistletoe.
Hot Mead, trees that glisten and gently sway.
Snowbells peaking from the snow.
Now it’s the hot dry Aussie sun,
That rules my life on Christmas day.
Family B.B.Q. a beer and some fun.
A trip to the beach to wind down the day.
So, to all who may read these lines.
Bright Holiday wishes I send to you now.
Whether in snow or hot bright sunshine.
May your yuletide be merry, may your love grow.
I'll be working that day...NOT KIDDING! :( But I shall make the best out of it, and maybe this will be the LAST Christmas I will have to work; GOD, I HOPE so!! :( (((HUGS))) (But I will have a good Christmas still, I may be getting some unexpected surprises...I did last year...) Good write, and Merry Christmas to you, too, Robin! :D (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Hmmm I think I would enjoy the sun at Christmas :-) Lovely sharing! I would love to hear the sound of the Kookaburras laughing in the trees! Reminds me of a song I use to love singing when I was a child. Happy Holidays!
