I'll always remember our quiet walks by the lake; That secluded cove, your favorite spot where nothing broke the surface but an occassional stone or two.
How you laughed when I'd skim one far out to its middle... Glancing down at our rippled reflections I saw the same beautiful woman I married forty years ago and me graced by a touch of grey at the temples and more wrinkles than I cared to see.
Wondering where the years went you stepped up and kissed my cheek, wiped away my lone tear and whispered, I Love You.
We held each other for awhile then sat by the waters edge and renewed our life of promise, hope and love.
I just read your note to me about my poem "The Beauty of Time," and I'm here reading your's at your suggestion with tears in my eyes. This is so special and so beautiful, Paul. It's romantic and gentle like a summer breeze. Love doesn't get any better than this. Beautiful write.
This is beyond wonderful, Paul. Having just come back from having lunch at a fave {tres humble} diner to celebrate 53 years of marriage, I find your timing impeccable and your message dead on. This has to be autobiographical. Right? You are obviously a beautiful person, and so is your darling. Together you are ten times what you were apart. Amount multiplies daily. Congratulations!!! Gratefully, Pea <3 <3
Oh how beautiful this is my friend...very romantic and heartwarming the way that a marriage should be...even though you see yourself different you see your wife as the same beautiful bride that you married. Simply divine!

Most good and great poetry is about one thing... Love. This poem is about... being - in love, and it tells it with a tenderness seldom written by a man. As a man who loved one woman for more than five decades, I applaud both you and your pen. Well done! Now, go forth and skip flat stones over the water.

The visuals are so clear. It's a poem that makes yer go awwwwwwww and ahhhhhhhh. Divine marriage you both blissfully share..
Paul,
Love doesn't get better than this, nor does poetry. When two people have been together that long.. every moment can be called a new beginning and be justified in the use of the word, love.
Beautiful work.
Paul, this is wonderful. It's touching to say the least, and the lone tear glistens your whole poem with love. I applaud the talent shown here. Very well done and a pleasure to read and enjoy.
