Sometimes people touch you so deeply that they become a very intimate part of your life. I speak of poetic romanticism and not human sexuality. Words will always have a way of bonding the heart and the soul and one to each other.
Words to hold from heart to soul, these thoughts may never stray. Time will pass, our cosmic paths, shall cross betwixt someday.
I upon a shining star, shall ride the milky-way. You beneath a silver moon, to steal my breath away.
We'll hop aboard a comet, ride through space from earth to mars ; Distance has no meaning with a bond as strong as ours.
Minds with just one purpose. One pen that beats sincere. This universe will have it all, when you and I are near.
We will seek not common pleasures, tis not love we wish to sate ; Before the end that time expends, we'll find our poetic mate.
Ah yes!!! You said it!! Brilliantly conceived and written, Paul, and I can echo all the wonderful responses below me on this page. I love your sensitivity and gentleness of spirit. You are a very special man and a very special creator of pieces of writing which inspire the very thing of which you speak. Few can do this while retaining an intrinsic humility, beauty and unselfconsciousness of spirit. I can verily realate to what you express here, Paul. There is such a "thing" as "platonic" love; beyond just the physical. I think that you mean "shining" star in the second stanza. Thank you for sharing this gift. I appreciate its worth. Love and blessings,

While it is true that all poets have this special thing in common which is writing, there is a difference when you find one who can give you the needed inspiration to keep the words flowing beautifully, who can make you discover a new meaning in your work and a noble vision in your goal. I can really relate to this poem. I enjoy many authors' works but there are so few who make me feel the way you describe. You are one of them. This is about relating to one's writing gift, which is very different from the physical/mental/love bond we seek in our personal lives. The type of connection you describe is a connection born of innocence (remaining innocent) and wholly professional based on love for the written word. Love the imagery in this poem - its creative and shows that relating and understanding can happen despite distance. An excellent offering!
