Silent Rage

This poem is about an X employer of mine. It was a family owned and run business. Their prime purpose in life was to make life miserable for everyone else. Nam was better than this job. it was a living hell.

Silent Rage

Every other breath states,
" That's not professional."
Yet, you corrupt everyone with your
lies and abuse giving the excuse,
" I'm a businessman."
That is a cop-out.

Your creations have adopted
the attitude. They learned
ruthlessness fosters the
fathers love. They've become
sick and demented as their
virus. You've destroyed all
emotions with mental and verbal assault.

The demon seed approached me
today. Hiding her fangs and
talons behind a mask of concern...
She shrieks, knowing the stone
can not be moved. The wench
is truly your clone.

I watch in silent rage
and see the sore fester.
Soon my new life will begin.
Before the time ends, I will
drive the stake that cures
mankind of your dreaded disease.

Paul, I do understand your feeling in this. There are many small businesses trying to compete with the larger and more power businesses out there. This happens because of the pressure they exert on themselves to compete and because of the petty mindedness they feel about their employees, and the feeling of power they have over them. Many love to belittle them. This is a very bad situation for somelike you are me to be in. Glad you have gotten out of it. bill

It only takes ONE of these "demon seeds" to turn the workplace into Hell on earth. Glad this one's an EX-employer!

Hi Paul,

I once used to work for a family runned business, it never worked out; as they expect me to be part of the family, and pried into my personal business, expected too much of me because they themselves had put a lot into the family runned business and they expected everyone else should feel they way they feel.

My employer sometimes unexpectedly appeared at my doorstep wanting favours from me or my hubby. We did it selflessly but it didn't go into their good books because our blood didn't run in their family, and of course we were not expected to be treated like family, but of course the work we have to share it and worked it like their family members.

I was so happy to be out of there the day I quit.

Good write on the subject, very thought-provoking indeed!
